Lemon poppy seed pancakes

These lemon poppy seed pancakes are fresh, yummy, and so amazing for a summer breakfast.

Pancakes are a breakfast staple and these lemon poppy seed pancakes are amazing for Sunday brunches and summer mornings. This recipe is super easy and my favorite things to make. I also freeze some of them to have them whenever I want without needing to make an entire batch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • pinch of salt

  • 1/3 poppy seed

  • 2 tbsp lemon zest

  • 2 cups butter milk

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tbsp butter

If you’d like you can add some vanilla, lemon, and or rose flavoring to the mix.

Directions

In a large bowl combine your dry ingredients: Flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt

Next in a small bowl combine: poppy seeds, lemon zest, buttermilk, eggs, and butter. Stir until combines.

Add this to the flour mixture until fully combined and cont over mix.

Heat a skillet, an, or griddle. Add the butter until it is melted and heated then you can spoon your pancakes onto the pan. You will know when to flip them when you see bubbles form around the edges and it begins to turn a golden color.

Flip to the other side until they are fully cooked.

You can serve this with maple syrup, a glaze (the recipe will also be below), or some jams.

Optional glaze

6 table spoons powdered sugar

2 tablespoons lemon juice

This isn’t my usual glaze but this one is super easy to use and you can just mix them in a couple minutes.

My four ingredient Bread

my four ingredient bread is a great starter for bread making, and an amazing addition to your weekly meals. This recipe is easy, has simple ingredients, and like I said it is a great start to learn how to make bread.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of warm water

  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 6 cups of flour

  • 3 tsp salt (optional but adds taste)

Directions

  • Mix in your 2 1/4 tsp yeast and 1 tbsp sugar into your warm water and let it rest for 5-10 minutes until bubbly

  • Prepare your dry ingredients, mix 6 cups of flour and 3 tsp salt

  • Mix together your yeast mixture and flour until It is a soft and sticky dough.

  • Get a clean bowl and lightly spread the inside with olive or avocado oil. Place your dough in the bowl and allow it to set for 1-3 hours until it expands in size. The longer it sits the better it tastes so if you can wait the 3 hours, do so.

  • When the dough has rises, fold it over and divide the dough in 2-4 pieces. Put a parchment paper onto a baking sheet and place your pieces of dough on it with at least 4-5 inches apart from each other.

  • While your oven is preheating to 450, let your dough rest again. You can cover them with a kitchen towel and let it sit.

  • Bowl water and lace the boiling water an a pan and place it on the lower rack, this will help the bread have a nice hard crust.

  • When the bread has shape, score with a knife or blade however you’d like.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes

Grandma’s Vanilla & Lemon layered cake

This cake is an amazing tasting, soft, moist, and decadent cake. In between each layer are fruit and homemade lemon curd. This cake recipe is a hit and is the single thing that broke my diet.

This cake has to be one of my favorite, most decorated cakes I’ve ever made, I made this impressive cake for my Grandma’s birthday, and it was a hit. This cake is like an outfit, it can be styled up or down. You can make only the lemon cake or only the vanilla. Even both. My classic buttercream frosting base will be posted soon as well. I decorated it with a messier job on the buttercream and fresh fruits, homemade lemon curd, mint, and lavender.

Starting with Vanilla cake

This vanilla cake is for the most part very simple, however it doesn’t make as much cake as the lemon recipe so keep that in mind. I filled about 2 medium sized pans with batter.

  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

  • 2 1/4 tsp baking powder

  • 3/4 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 3 large eggs - room temperature

  • 2-3 tsp vanilla

  • 1 cup of whole or almond milk

Vanilla cake directions

1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two 8” cake rounds and line with parchment paper.

2) In a medium bowl mix together all your dry ingredients: Flour, baking powder, and salt. Set this aside.

3) In a large bowl using a stand or hand mixer cream the butter and sugar together on medium speed until fluffy. Reduce the speed and add eggs one at a time until incorporated. Then add in the vanilla.

4) alternate adding flour and milk in until fully mixed between each addition.

5)Bake for 30-35 minutes and stick the middle of the cakes with a toothpick until it comes out mostly clean.

6) please on a wire rack and let it completely cool

Light Lemon cake

This lemon cake isn’t as potent as ones I’ve made before, in fact my family has started to ask me more and more for my lemon desserts, as they are so iconic now. This cake is lighter, fluffy, and has a beautiful lemon hint.

  • 3 cups of all purpose flour

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 3/4 cup sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract

  • 1 cup milk or milk

  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest ( 2 lemons)

  • 1/3 cup of lemon juice (1 1/2 lemons, about)

Directions

1) Yous oven should be preheated to 350 degrees F , grease your 8” round cake pans and line with parchment paper.

2) Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3) Use a mixer and beat the butter and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula to ensure everything is mixed correctly.

4) Add the eggs and vanilla until combined.

5) Add your dry ingredients and mix until combined.

6) With the mixer on low add it your milk, lemon juice, and zest until combined. The batter should be a bit thick.

7) Pour the batter evenly into the cake pans and bake them for around 21-26 minutes until they are baked through. Place a toothpick in the middle of the cake, when it comes out clean the cake should be baked through. This cake will come out very fluffy, allow it to cool fully before assembly.

You can see how I assembled it on the @Khaurafablifestyle social medias on Tik Tok and instagram. These are just the cake recipes but if you would like the butter cream recipes or assembly let me know. How make the make Bella Hadid Erewhon Kinsicle

Erewhon is known for its celebrity smoothies, this time they have come out with the Kinsicle. With Bella Hadid’s brand Kin euphorics. To make this $17 smoothie at home, use this recipe, and enjoy your Kinsicles!

We all know about the infamous Erewhon smoothies. This grocery store in LA has become famous for their high-class groceries, catering, but specifically their celebrity collaboration smoothies. Most celebrities not only collaborate with Erewhon but they collaborate their brand with it, for example, Hailey Bieber has had a smoothie earlier with her brand Rhode. As well As Kourtney Kardashian Barker and her brand Poosh has their smoothie. Now it is time for the infamous Bella Hadid smoothie, with her brand Kin Euphoric, a non-alcoholic drink that is supposed to give you a sort of "Buzz" or euphoria. Its all about good, clean energy.

What exactly is in this smoothie?

According to a few sites the recipe calls for ( And mind you I found many recipes with different measurements)

  •   2 oz of Kin Euphoric's High Rhode

  •   1 tsp of Lion's Mane Powder

  •   1-2 tbsp of coconut cult- Orange yogurt ( Someone told me it had to be this yogurt specifically but I don’t think that’s true)

  •   1 Date

  •   1 oz Aloe Vera juice

  •   1/4 cup almond milk

  •   6 oz (3/4 cup) orange juice

  •   1 tsp Vanilla extract

  •   Coconut cream for glass

  •   1/2 banana

  • 1 cup of frozen mango

Now, this seems like a lot and to be honest, buying the yogurt on this list alone is about $35 each! I can't spend so much of yogurt, that's just ridiculous. So I have decided to change up the recipe as much as I can in order to make this a bit more cost effective and practical. It’s pretty much the same just with my own variation.

Allergen’s: If you are allergic to anything on this list please substitute this with the most similar item to it, for example, you can use oat or coconut milk if you are unable to consume almond milk.

For the most part I kept the recipe the same, however I decided to substitute that wildly expensive yogurt with one that is still plant based but less expensive. I would suggest still using a yogurt that is orange flavored so you get a similar taste and effect

No dates? No problem just use agave syrup

Try your best to get each product but if you can't always substitute for the next best thing! Here is my full variation recipe to the Kinsicle (Varied due to allergies I have). However like I said you can make variations however you’d like.

Khaurafab’s Version:

  • 2 oz of Kin Euphoric's Kin Spritz

  • 1 tsp of Lion's Mane Powder or any type of energy/ health powder you enjoy

  •   1-2 tbsp of - Orange yogurt (I used plant based orange blossom)

  •   1 Date

  •   1 oz Aloe Vera

  •   1/4 cup almond milk

  •   6 oz orange juice

  •   1 tsp Vanilla extract

  •   coconut cream for the glass

  • 1 cup of Mango

No matter what as long as you stick to the bases of the recipe you should be fine. You can use either recipes for the Kinsicle and it will turn out delish!

Steps

1) Put your coconut cream around and at the bottom of your glass

2) Blend together your ingredients, add into that glass, and enjoy a yummy Kinsicle.

Enjoy your smoothie and make sure your subscribed to the Khaurafab newsletter to recieve recipes, lifestyle tips, fashion content, and so much more!
